Spring 2018 Visual Novel Wishlist

ps0mizbWhat I’ve been up to in terms of gaming? Well, I started playing the Dragon Age series last year, and I’m currently towards the end of Dragon Age 2. All I have left to do is play the DCLs and finish Act 3. Romanced Anders yet felt betrayed… I’m thinking of taking a break after DA 2 to play some otome again before starting DA Inquisition.

Also, recently finished playing Detective Pikachu which released last month. I really enjoyed it and liked the concept of Pokemon coexisting with humans in a modern day setting.

As for my wishlist, I’ve included at least one vn where you don’t have to pursue romance and it does not effect your playthrough of getting a good ending. Sort of like in DA. If you’re interesting, check it out and support the developer. To give you a hint, does the name Rinmaru rings a bell? Otherwise, most on the list will be otome.

Now let’s get started~

Nightshade is Bittersweet

from left to right: Gekkamaru, Kyara, Ennosuke, Enju, Chojiro, Kasumi, and Kuroyuki

After playing this game, I needed some time to distance myself from it. Never have I ever came across a visual novel that all the characters were well-written. Plus, I just want to hug them all to shield them from what had happened to them.

Nightshade is one of the few major Japanese otome available on Steam. It is also known as Hyakka Hyakurou Sengoku Ninpou-chou which can be heard said by various of characters when entering the main menu. The default setting randomly selects the voice. Though, you can change it to hearing your favorite character’s voice in the settings. I just left it as it is since all the voices are lovely to hear. Most of the visual novel is voiced including minor characters and the prologue narration. Impressive! The only character who doesn’t have a VA is Enju. Whether an MC is voiced or not is not a make or break deal for me.

Layton is back?!

Professor Layton logo edit with question markThe Professor Layton series is one of the few games I play. Characters are intriguing to look at because of how strangely nonstandard they’re drawn yet works for the universe they are put in. The story has lots of twists in it which makes me want to see what else the creators have in store for us. Though, I was quite sad when I thought Azran Legacy was the last one in the series.

Summer 2017 Anime Final Thoughts (Part 1)

As the season starts to wind down, it’s time that I write about my thoughts on each series. Since I had 14 shows to watch this season, I have many favorites for every occasion.

Watched immediately on the day it’s aired:¬†Ballroom e Youkoso and¬†Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu

During dinner: Isekai Shokudou, Tsurezure Children, Centaur no Nayami, and Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun

In-between series: Gamers!

Saved the best for last: Youkai Apartment no Yuuga na Nichijou

To make it not a one long post, I’ve decided to break it into two posts. The romance series will be discussed first. For the other half, please continue to the next post.
